Customize the ribbon

Open the Customize the Ribbon window

1. Click File> Options.

2. In the Options dialog box, select the Customize Ribbon tab.

Note You can also open the Customize the Ribbon window by right-clicking any tab on the ribbon and then clicking Customize the Ribbon.

Working with tabs

Add a custom tab

• Under the Customize the Ribbon list, click New Card.

Rename a standard or custom tab

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the tab that you want to rename.

2. Click Rename, then enter a new name.

Hide a standard or custom tab

• In the Customize the Ribbon list, clear the check box next to the standard tab or custom tab that you want to hide.

Note You can hide custom and standard tabs. However, you can only remove custom tabs.

Change the order of standard or custom tabs

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the tab that you want to move.

2. Click the Up Arrow or Down Arrow until the order you want appears.

Remove a custom tab

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the tab that you want to remove.

2. Click Remove.

Note In the Customize the Ribbon list, the custom tabs and groups have (Custom) after the name, but the word (Custom) does not appear on the ribbon.

Add a custom group to a tab

1. Under the Customize the Ribbon list, click the tab to which you want to add a group.

2. Click New Group.

3.If you want to rename the New Group (Custom), click the group to highlight it, click Rename, and then enter the new name.

Note You can add a custom group to a custom tab or a standard tab.

Rename a standard or custom group

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the group that you want to rename.

2. Click Rename, then enter a new name.

Change the order of standard or custom groups

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the group that you want to move.

2. Click the Up Arrow or Down Arrow until the order you want appears.

Remove a standard or custom group

In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the group that you want to remove.

Click the Remove button.

Replace a standard group with a custom group

Note You cannot remove commands from a standard group (a group integrated in FlexPro). However, you can create a custom group that contains only the commands you want to replace the default group.

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the default tab on which you want to add the custom group.

2. Click New Group.

3. Right-click the new group, then click Rename.

4. Enter a name for the new group.

5. In the Select commands selection box, click Main tabs.

6. Click the arrow (>) next to the default tab that contains the group you want to customize.

7. Click the arrow (>) next to the default group that you want to customize.

8. Click the command that you want to add to the custom group, and then click Add.
Note You don't need to add all of the commands. Just add the commands you want.

9. Right-click the default group, and then click Remove.

Working with commands

Add commands to a custom group

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the custom group that you want to add a command to.

2. In the Select commands selection box, select the list from which commands are to be added (e.g. Frequently used commands or All commands).

3. Click on a command in the list that you selected.

4. Click Add.

Note You can also rename a command and then add an icon representing the command by clicking the command and then clicking Rename.

Remove a command from a custom group

Note Commands can only be removed from user-defined groups.

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the command that you want to remove.

2. Click Remove.

Renaming a command that has been added to a custom group

1. In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the command that you want to rename.

2. Click Rename, then enter a new name.

3.If you are renaming a command that you have added to a custom group, you can also click an icon to represent that command.

Change the order of commands in custom groups

In the Customize the Ribbon list, click the command that you want to move.

Click the Up Arrow or Down Arrow until you see the order you want.

Reset the ribbon

• Click on Reset.

Note All adjustments to the menu ribbon are discarded.
