We are looking for personalities with the desire to develop their business talents.
If you are interested in business management and are pursuing the goal of making and implementing business decisions on a scientific basis, you will meet the personal requirements for the "Business Administration" bachelor's degree. A high level of work motivation and the willingness to develop your own personality further outside of the subject-specific course content and to deepen your knowledge will contribute significantly to your academic success. Good math and language skills are required.

University entrance qualification
To study at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, you need the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or the technical college entrance qualification (academic and practical part). The full technical college entrance qualification is usually acquired through a school-based and a practical part (in the form of a corresponding internship or vocational training). Access with professional qualifications is also possible.
No pre-study internship is required when starting studies in the 2020 summer semester, 2020/21 winter semester, 2021 summer semester and 2021/22 winter semester; this requirement does not apply.
For applications from the summer semester 2022, the pre-study internship must be completed as shown below.
Proof of a pre-study internship of at least four weeks full-time work in the commercial area is required for the start of the course. Proof of this must be available at the start of the course.
The internship can, for example, be completed in the following areas:
- Service provision,
- Marketing / Sales / Market Research,
- Human resource management,
- Controlling / financing,
- Information processing / IT,

The bachelor's degree in Business Administration is restricted in admission.
Information about the selection criteria at the HSD and the selection limits (NC values) of the last semester can be found here: hs-duesseldorf.de/nc_ws.
The selection limits (NC values) of the last semesters can only be used to a very limited extent from the summer semester 2021, as the criteria for the allocation of study places and their weighting have changed significantly. The NC values for the following semester cannot be predicted, but result from the competition between applicants for the restricted admission study places.
You can start your studies here both in the summer semester and in the winter semester.
The application deadline is January 15 (summer semester) or July 15 (winter semester) of the year; in 2021, however, July 31st. Applications for the HSD courses are made online. Please note that there are separate application procedures for certain groups of applicants. You can find the relevant information on our application portal.

The online application is usually activated in early / mid-May for the winter semester and early / mid-November for the summer semester. This means that an application is only possible from this point on. An application is only possible for the following semester and not for a later date.
