How many people hate dishes

Also a survey about dishes

Written by Steffi528 on November 16, 2016, 5:40 pm

How many people do you have uniform dishes for?

Mine arrived today, plain white, round. I searched for it and unfortunately only found it on the Internet.
Now I have a full set for 18 people, i.e. for coffee and cake, flat and deep plates, muslim bowls ...

Before it was only for 12 people, but the family is kind of growing.

And you? Do you have that much too? Or even two place settings, one for "always" one for special occasions?

I once had for 12 people. Simple, white. The “loved ones” have already ruined a few things.
The family is shrinking here (;-(), so it fits (;-))

It used to be for 12 people, but it is shrinking more and more, especially with the plates we only come to half that approx. :))

There are two different sets for dinner, but I'll probably have to get a uniform one, just like with the cutlery - motley

We also have white dishes for 6 people;

Dinner plates, deep plates, a set for drinking coffee, dessert bowls

In addition, large cream-colored pizza plates.

We got the dishes from Ostermann.

This is for special occasions.

Otherwise we still have everyday plates; also for 6 people; one brown pizza plate (one of which broke) and each white flat + deep plate with a motif ...

For 10 people.
I will have to increase that soon, we are now at celebrations for 12.
But so far it was also possible with other plates, they look completely different, but have served their purpose.

But no cake settings. They never exist here anyway, so we don't even have them.

We also have very plain white ones. And then just 5 old plates that my husband inherited from his godmother. The colors are undefinable.

For special occasions I only have 6 uniform plates. But they are only brought out at Christmas. And there are only three of us celebrating that here. So it fits.
Are white, oblong, angular plates from Villeroy and Boch that I received from my mother for Christmas a few years ago together with 2 serving bowls / plates.

If we are only under 24 there are either flowers with a gold rim or a blue onion pattern - it depends on the occasion

The decor is so "off", at least on the breakfast plates that we use all the time, that I don't want to see it here anymore. I take one part with me to work, there are always plates missing, the rest ???? Hmmmm. Too good to throw away, but I don't want to burden myself with it anymore.

I have plates and cups and even champagne glasses made of colored plastic.
I also have neutral white porcelain dishes ... for 12 people ... but we rarely use them. I have cereal bowls, egg cups, etc. for the kids and me, as well as two baby dishes.
I wouldn't get 18 or more people here. But if I should need something (dishes, chairs, beer set, etc.) I lend something from my favorite neighbor, and he with me ... no problem.

I have now bought Christmas tableware.
This is so great!!
A set of 6.
I don't have any other tableware for festive occasions.
Our normal dishes are white and have wavy edges.
So always festive;)

I have "dream crockery" that I will buy at some point.
But nonsensical with small children.

18 place settings are not even for everyone, at the moment I still have "children's dishes" painted by the children, but at some point the more and more confirmed children no longer want to eat them.
So, hmm, maybe I'll buy a 4th pack of the Christmas bonus, just in case of an emergency ...

We have a lot of space and if I include the godparents of the Lütten, there are quickly 8 more people because they all have families

... I have 2 different wine glasses, 2 different champagne glasses (made of glass ^^), I don't own a single beer or shot glass.

Glass is not a big issue here, it breaks anyway. But I still have 12 (probably only 10 I think ^^) all-purpose glasses from which you can actually drink anything.

We have cutlery for 12 people - complete with cake server, sauce spoon, etc.

We also have wine glasses (for red and white) and champagne glasses each as a set of 6.

I don't differentiate between everyday life and partying. We have very simple white from Villeroy and Boch. Was a set for 6 people, which I gradually increased. We now have 12 cake plates, but pasta plates, for example, only 4.
We don't need that huge amount of dishes. We wouldn't have any space to accommodate so many guests.

I have coffee / breakfast dishes from Hutschenreuther (white) for 12 people.

And a complete coffee / breakfast / dining service including plates and bowls in various sizes by Rosenthal for 12 people.

Should more than 12 people eat here, which practically never happens, I could borrow dishes from the company.

Oh and then I still have my grandmother's wedding service from 1937, a very delicate tea and coffee service from Nymphenburg (now unfortunately only for 6 people) with the matching lead crystal plates. It's in the showcase, too good to use. It was hidden from the Russians for years and buried in the front yard.

We have a lot of dishes.

To be precise, 2 crockery sets (for 6 people each)
with each
6 large coffee cups + coasters
6 medium coffee cups + coasters
6 small coffee cups + saucers
6 cereal bowls
6 soup plates
6 meat plates
6 dessert plates
6 egg cups + coasters
1 sugar cup
1 small milk can

Then we have Christmas dishes for 4 people and Easter dishes for 4 people

I think that's enough: D
